Project Description

A recent addition to the Series, this painting depicts modern Sydney looking north from the southern part of the Central Business District.

Front and centre is the AMP Tower, once the 5th tallest structure in the world when it was built in the early 1970s. To the right is the octagonal shape of architect Harry Seidler’s MLC Centre.

In the lower right can be seen the northern tip of Hyde Park and further up on the right is the Royal Botanic Gardens.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House can be seen in the distance, with the North Shore stretching out beyond on the other side of the harbour.
